Hey, so you used to paint cloaks the same color as armor, no big deal! The dude with the halberd is clearly falling over due to being top heavy, Chris O.

But seriously, Dead Dick, back then the quality and availability of paints was far inferior, not to mention there were no forums to learn painting techniques from, nor sites to see other's work. There were no conventions so to speak, and the focus for you was to paint them up so they could be used asap.

I feel like a tool saying this, but the old ones look cool too because they capture the 'feel' of miniatures back then. That's how folks painted them back then! Fer real yo.

Good lord, what the hell is that halberdier trying to accomplish by being largely naked but having all that armor on his head. "I'm brave! I choose to have both the limited vision and hearing of a fully armored knight, without any of the protection on the rest of the body! FEAR MY CHAOTIC ASS!"

Me too! I have a partial run of Deadly Hands of Kung-fu, a partial run of the 70's Iron Fist comic, and a full run of Master of Kung-Fu. If I can get my hands on a Shang-Chi Heroclix, he might make an appearance here too.

There is a TON of free player made tiles, that look awesome all over the net from everything from roads, dungeon tiles, full maps from adventures and modules etc. They are free to download, and using the same method, you can recreate crap like this. The issue is always ink in terms of price.

Some of the downloads for full dungeons maps, are broken up into letter sized pieces, which makes much less work.

Yes, I could. But the tiles would then be bigger, and wouldn't fit evenly on the 2' x 2' modular boards I use. Part of the appeal of having a modular gaming surface is that I can use as much or as little of the surface as I want. It's perfectly ok to use a 2' x 2' board for skirmish level games, a 4' x 4' table for something a little bigger, and the whole table for big battles.

I just wanted the roads to match up evenly with the individual boards. So I'm kinda stuck with what I have. Like I said, the roads themselves are a little small for 28mm, but I can live with it. The parking lots, not so much.
